About me
I grew up with computers. Literally — on my dad's lap. He worked at a pension fund service provider, surrounded by some of the very first ones.An Olivetti the size of a school desk, with 8" floppies and a two-line display. Or that Compaq 386 — the first "portable."An uncle got me a used 8088. A clone, not an IBM. That became a 286 — motherboard on the table, because the case didn't fit. Became a 386, became a 486. Somewhere along the way I overtook my parents, and they let me run a coax network through the entire house. (thanks mum)When my eyesight turned out to be too poor to become a military helicopter pilot, the choice was easy: IT it is.My first sysadmin job ran entirely on my homegrown knowledge. Not on my bachelor's degree Telematica. At one of those jobs I got introduced to SAN storage and enterprise backup. Sold.Others found it daunting or complex — I just got it, and wanted more. That curiosity hasn't left. I dabble in NSX and Cisco ACI, play with Linux and containers while being a Windows kid at heart, teach myself PowerShell and Ansible — and perform open heart surgery on mission critical Everpure Storage arrays, a year after seeing those systems for the very first time.
